Is Buying a New Hybrid the Best Thing For You? Part 1

Converting to a car that runs on water is an ALTERNATIVE to purchasing one of those new Hybrids from Toyota, Honda, or one of the others that is on the market today. If you are considering one of these, you may find this post and others that are soon to follow as very helpful. The next few posts will try to ask and answer a few questions, that with a little thought, and perhaps a sharpened pencil, the average person can answer for themselves to really determine if that is a reasonable alternative. I mean let's face it... although the alternatives are somewhat limited right now, a water powered car is not the ONLY alternative.

*** What is my fuel mileage now, versus what I expect to get in the new Hybrid?

First of all, there are several versions of hybrid technology out there right now. For example the Toyota Prius is touting a "sweet" almost 50 mpg. Yet there are others, such as the Chevy Tahoe Hybrid that is estimating somewhere in the low to mid 20's mpg. (only 50% better than its V8 counterpart) Do the math…. How much do you drive now? What is your fuel expense now? Will you save enough money at the pump to justify the additional or increase in car payment, if any? In some cases, the answer is a resounding YES! For others, it may not be that significant. For still others, who may not have a car payment at all right now, but would need to add one to purchase the new Hybrid, it may COST them money!

Price of Gas... All Time High!

Folks, we ain't never been here before! The average price of a gallon of gas is now OVER $4.
WOW! It cost me a bit over $100 to fill up my tank yesterday... But thankfully, there is something that can take the edge off the price at the pump!
